Role Overview:
A new role has arisens the Vice President of Software Engineering, you will lead our engineering teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions that align with our business objectives. Your role will involve strategic planning, team leadership, and process optimisation to support our company's growth.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping the technological future of Moneybase, leading various teams that consists of project managers, team leads, business analysts, QA, UIUX experts and more

You will be at the forefront of driving the timely delivery of high-quality software solutions that align with our ambitious company goals and reporting to the Chief Technology Officer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Development: Manage and mentor engineering managers and teams, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Process Optimization: Implement and refine engineering processes to enhance productivity and product quality.

  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the CTO and other stakeholders to develop and execute the technical roadmap

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Design, and Operations teams to ensure cohesive product development and delivery.

  • Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain high standards for software quality, including code reviews and testing protocols.

  • Budget Management: Oversee the engineering budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.

  • Forming part of the IT steering committee

  • Leading, mentoring, and inspiring a multidisciplinary team to foster a culture of performance, innovation, and collaboration, emphasizing the importance of delivering high-quality software on time

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team, advocating for best practices and state-of-the-art methodologies in software development.

Job requirements

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

  • Proven track record of scaling engineering teams and processes in a high-growth environment.

  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience with Agile development and DevOps practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the fintech industry or similar regulated environments.

  • Familiarity with compliance standards and security protocols relevant to financial services.
