Role Overview
As a result of sustained growth being experienced at Moneybase, a new role has arisen for the role of Vice President of Software Engineering. The company is seeking a highly experienced indivudal that will lead the tech division to scaling up its operations.

The selected indivudal will be responsbile for leading the company to implement optimised processes and ensure efficient delivery of high-quality software solutions. The right candidate will be able to plan strategically, lead and insipire teams to change, have an eye for detail and be able to execute from end to end.

This position represents a significant career opportunity for an experienced visionary leader with a deep commitment to excellence in software development and provides plenty of opportunity for career growth. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in scaling Moneybase internationally from the tech side and reports directly to the Chief Technology Officer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning: Work closely with the CTO and other stakeholders to take strategic decisions as the company grows.

  • Process Optimization: Implement and refine engineering processes to enhance productivity and product quality.

  • TDD and DDD - Lead the company towards achieving both Test Driven Development and Domain Driven Design.

  • KPI’s - Work towards enhancing KPIs for the teams across the board

  • Team Leadership & Development: Manage and Mentor managers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Inspiring a multidisciplinary team to foster a culture of performance, innovation, and collaboration, emphasizing the importance of delivering high-quality software on time

  • Quality Assurance: Establish high standards for software quality processes which are efficient and effective.

  • Budget Management: Oversee the engineering budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.

  • Forming part of the IT steering committee

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team including AI

Job requirements

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 5 years+ upper management experience working with in the financial services industry preferably with a Neobank /Digital Bank

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

  • Proven track record of scaling engineering teams and processes in a high-growth environment

  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies and best practices

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience with Agile development and DevOps practices

  • Familiarity with compliance and security standards relevant to financial services

  • Knowledge of payments and investments
