As a part-time Junior IT Support Specialist, you will provide essential technical assistance to our internal onsite and remote teams. This role is ideal for entry-level candidates/students with a passion for technology, strong problem-solving skills, and a desire to learn and grow within IT support. The selected candidate will handle various day-to-day technical issues, install and configure hardware and software and support of current networking environment.
Main Responsibilities:
Provision of first line support to internal staff either on-site or remotely
Tending to service requests received via the helpdesk system, email and/or telephone
Supporting and troubleshooting a wired and wireless networking environment
Identifying, researching, and resolving technical computer related problems
Installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading software, hardware and equipment
Supporting and maintaining the company’s network, desktops, printers, copiers, phones etc
Updating and creating relevant IT support documentation
Job requirements
Required Skills and Educational Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills to effectively support and assist staff.
Educational qualifications/certificates relating to Networks, Infrastructure and more will be considered as an asset for the role.
Be willing to learn, use and administer our software packages
Have a background and good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS environment and Microsoft Office Suites
Basic knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.
Be motivated, have a positive attitude, be eager to learn and keep up with ICT technologies
Have good diagnostic and troubleshooting skills to support internal staff
Be able to work as part of a team as well as individually
