We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of HR to lead and manage the human resources functions for Calamatta Cuschieri Moneybase plc. This role will be responsible for overseeing the HR team and ensuring the effective delivery of all HR operations, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and HR strategy implementation. The Head of HR will act as a trusted advisor to the leadership team and play a key role in fostering a positive and productive workplace culture. This position reports directly to the Co-CEO. 

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Leading the Group’s expansion efforts globally 

  • Forming part of the remuneration committee, putting forward strategic proposals that align with company goals 

  • Leading and managing the group’s Human Resources Function, acting as a change agent by critically reviewing, proposing and driving continuous improvement. 

  • Overseeing and monitoring the functional areas of the HR department including payroll, recruitment and selection process, training and development, performance management and employee relations. 

  • Developing comprehensive strategic recruiting and employee engagement and retention plans to meet the human capital needs of the organisation in the near, medium and long-term. 

  • Responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive compensation and benefit plans that are competitive and cost-effective for the organisation and allow the group to adequately service its HR needs at all times. 

  • Liaising, supporting and advising management at all levels across the business on all HR related matters, ranging from general queries and grievances to disciplinary investigations and legal case preparation. 

  • Conducting research and analysis of internal and external environment including awareness of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and other opportunities 

  • Responsible for managing the group’s HR budget in close collaboration with the Finance function and respective Heads of Department 

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.  

  • Provides regular reporting to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors as required. 

  • Manage and follow up specific projects within the HR Department in collaboration with Co-CEO and other Senior Management 

Job requirements

Experience & Education Requirements 

  • Tertiary level of education in HR or related field 

  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar role ideally in a financial services or a fintech company 

  

Skills Requirements 

  • Self-Starter with the ability to deliver accurate work under tight deadlines 

  • Good knowledge of Employment Law 

  • Proven track record of operating in a fast-paced environment 

  • Excellent English communication, both written and verbal 

  • Possess exceptional communication skills and be passionate about people 

  • Used to working in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment 

  • Ability to multitask and prioritise accordingly 

  • Be discreet and capable of safeguarding privacy and confidentiality 

  • Ability to keep up to date with current occupational and labour market trends
