Product Owner

Job description

The Product Owner role is a new dedicated role that will serve as a crucial link between the product Manager and the development team as well as between the support team and the dev team.

You will form part of the IT arm of the Group and join a team of 45 multinational IT specialists. We thrive on a challenge and are always looking at developing the next big thing. We are currently working on some very exciting projects and we are utilising the very latest technologies to get us there.

The role provides the flexibility of working remotely or otherwise to work from our 2,000Sqm HQ which also offers gym facilities available for use throughout the day. We have presence in Malta, Lithuania, Slovenia and in many other countries around the world.

We have a super team which we are incredibly proud of and we are looking for a real team player with a passion for technology and the drive to make the difference for this product and to take ownership in its technical space.


    • Lead the daily needs of the team and act as a reference point
    • Liaise with Developers and Product Manager/Sponsor to understand requirements and propose solutions that meet such requirements
    • Manage the roadmap
    • Decide on urgent issues and priorities
    • Work with UX designers to design an effective user experience
    • Engage with Dev team
    • Perform high level UAT to verify that the solution is in line with the vision
    • Handle Jira Grooming


    Experience & Education Requirements

    • Digital banking experience
    • A good understanding of software development, preferably including mobile
    • UI / UX Experience
    • Knowledge of JIRA and other related tools 
    • Knowledge of Scrum, Agile methodologies
    • Product Owner, Scrum Master Certifications are a plus

    Skills Requirements

    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to talk to and present to a range of audiences, sometimes acting as a translator between parties.
    • Ability to work on multiple projects within respective project time frames
    • A passion for creating solutions with a positive attitude to change
    • Excellent analytical skills and an informed, evidence-based approach
    • A strong interest in business and business development
