Equity Analyst

Job description

The successful candidate will join a team of experienced investment professionals and will be directly involved in the day-to-day Analyst functions.


The selected candidate will also be required to perform the following duties, amongst others:

  • Administrative tasks involved in the management of clients’ assets including but not limited to the preparation of IC packs, taking minutes, updating of client portfolios, trade execution etc.
  • Developing new business areas which could offer growth potential for the Company
  • Preparation of investment related articles once you have gained the necessary experience
  • Focusing on research and analysis of various Companies held within clients portfolios and also prospective names
  • Providing assistance in any related Equity tasks to the Equity Investment Managers
  • The monitoring of news flow on companies held within the portfolios, including the attendance of conference calls
  • The building and retention of financial models
  • Preparation of biannual financial statements and risk notes; Preparation of quarterly board packs; Preparation of monthly fact sheets; Running of daily monitors  - for funds under management


Requirements

  • Minimum of a Banking and Finance (Hons) degree or equivalent
  • In-depth understanding of financial markets with particular emphasis on equity markets  
  • Knowledge of risk management and compliance regulations
  • Strong attention to detail and a can-do attitude
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills 
  • Hands-on experience dealing with Microsoft Excel 
  • Experience in the sector would be considered as an asset
  • Be a good team player
  • Demonstrate the ability and initiative to handle increasing responsibility over time
