Compliance Manager (Funds and Pensions)

Job description

Summary of Position:

The position entails the responsibility to lead the regulatory compliance function of the fund management and pensions business within the CC Group as well as providing support to the regulatory requirements of the wider Group. He/She is responsible for ensuring that the companies within his/her direct area of responsibility are conducting their business in full compliance with all applicable legislation and related rules and regulations. This will involve the design, review and implementation of policies and procedures, training, monitoring of conduct of business and ensure the adoption of best practices within the industry.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day regulatory compliance duties of the companies in scope
  • Provide guidance, support and direction on regulatory matters to the various business lines
  • Develop, execute and maintain the Compliance Monitoring Programme of the companies for which you will be employed (and approved by the MFSA) as Compliance Officer
  • Ensure that regulatory Policies and Standard Operating Procedures are at all times in line with applicable directives and regulations
  • Reporting on a regular basis to the Board of Directors and applicable Board Committees on the progress of implementation of the Compliance Monitoring and related matters
  • Regulatory reporting to the MFSA and other local Authorities as may be required from time to time
  • Lead the Customer Complaints process, as applicable, including liaising with internal stakeholders
  • Remain abreast with new regulations and circulars and engage in continuous learning and development regarding changes in rules and regulations that would require to be implemented
  • Train and develop CC Group staff on matters of a regulatory nature as may be required from time to time

Requirements

Knowledge, Experience & Education Requirements

  • The ideal candidate should demonstrate an understanding of the UCITS funds Directive, pensions and investment services business as well as related conduct of business rules
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within a regulated financial services entity/ or with the local regulatory body
  • Preference will be given to qualified candidates with industry experience and already PQ’d with the MFSA

Skills Requirements

  • Excellent written and oral skills in Maltese and English
  • Able to analyse situations for compliance and business risk, and implement solutions to address and mitigate such risk
  • Possess a high morale character and professional integrity
  • Meticulous attention to detail and highly accurate
  • Holds good leadership skills and motivational team leader
