Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring all relevant companies, are in compliance with all current laws and regulations.
  • Ensuring that all AML and KYC requirements and procedures are followed appropriately.
  • Managing transaction monitoring for fraud and AML issues where relevant.
  • Implementing and monitoring risk management policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring and reporting risks and compliance gaps in relation to internal and external regulations.
  • Identifying and addressing conflicts of interest.
  • Supporting various regulatory and statutory audits if needed.
  • Publishing written guidelines to staff and service providers on the appropriate implementation of the laws, regulations, rules, and standards through policies and procedures.
  • Actively participate in the execution of the Compliance Monitoring Programme of licensed entities and draw up the monitoring reports in a timely manner and take an active role in the compliance reporting, including reporting to the Board/Authority and other stakeholders.
  • Remain abreast with new regulations and circulars and engage in continuous learning and development regarding changes in rules and regulations that would require to be implemented.

Requirements

Experience & Education Requirements

  • Preferably in possession of a Compliance and/or AML-related certification.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working within financial services. Preference will be given to candidates who have already worked in the financial services sector.
  • Advanced experience with MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.

Skills Requirements

  • Possess a high morale character and professional integrity
  • Meticulous attention to detail and highly accurate
  • Possess working knowledge of regulatory bodies such as MFSA and FIAU.
  • Excellent written and oral skills in English and/or Maltese
  • Ability to take ownership of tasks on an individual and team basis, as applicable.
