The QA Team Lead will be leading a team of 5 QA Engineers and will be responsible for the overall quality of our products.  You will work with different teams across various dimensions within the company to ensure a synergetic collaboration and timely delivery of goals.


As the QA Team Lead at our FinTech company, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our financial software products. You will lead a team of QA engineers, coordinating their efforts to implement effective testing strategies, maintain high product standards, and drive continuous improvement in our QA processes. Your expertise will contribute to the delivery of innovative solutions that meet the rigorous standards of the financial industry. The role is available in Malta and we also offer relocation packages.


Duties & Responsibilities:


  1. Leadership and Team Management:
    • Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and excellence.
    • Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring their professional development and growth within the organization.
    • Coordinate resources effectively to meet project deadlines and deliverables.
  2. Quality Assurance Strategy:
    • Develop and implement comprehensive QA strategies, methodologies, and processes tailored to the unique requirements of financial software development.
    • Define testing standards, best practices, and guidelines to maintain product integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate QA activities seamlessly into the software development lifecycle.
  3. Test Planning and Execution:
    • Plan, prioritize, and oversee testing activities, including functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.
    • Design test cases, scenarios, and scripts to validate software functionality, reliability, and security.
    • Execute test cases manually and through automation tools, ensuring thorough coverage and accuracy of test results.
  4. Quality Assurance Infrastructure:
    • Evaluate, select, and implement QA tools, frameworks, and technologies to streamline testing processes and enhance efficiency.
    • Maintain and administer test environments, ensuring their stability, consistency, and relevance to production environments.
    • Monitor and analyze QA metrics and KPIs to assess product quality, identify areas for improvement, and drive corrective actions.
  5. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Foster strong partnerships with stakeholders, including product managers, developers, and business analysts, to align QA initiatives with business objectives.
    • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners, providing regular updates on QA activities, progress, and challenges.
    • Act as a subject matter expert on QA-related matters, offering insights, recommendations, and solutions to address complex issues.

Job requirements

Experience & Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 
  • Proven experience (5 years) in software quality assurance, with a focus on financial applications or FinTech products.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and empower team members.
  • In-depth knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and best practices, particularly in agile development environments.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and scripting languages.
  • Solid understanding of financial industry standards and security principles.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements, optimizing QA workflows, and delivering high-quality software solutions on time and within budget.
